No. Weight lifting builds muscle on your chest but it doesn’t burn fat. If you want to lose fat off your chest, you must BOTH eat healthily and to do cardio (swimming, running etc).

This is the only effective way to lose fat.

Lifting weights will make your man boobs change shape into something more manly looking by flattening them out, but the only way to lose fat is to eat less (and get some aerobic exercise, like running).

You can’t reduce fat in a specific area – However, exercises in the specific area will enforce the area, making it feel more solid to the touch.

Weights are, imo, better than aerobic exercise, it’s a total myth that cardio is somehow better at reducing fat, it will increase endurance and VO2 (the ability to use oxygen properly, not breathe 50% of it out and gasp for more) but both aerobic and anaerobic (weights) exercise are effective fat burners – see link in sources for HIIT vs endurance cardio. When I was 17 i was 16-17 stone and it was fat… Diet didn’t help much (it contributed, but alone wasn’t too strong) – but going to the gym dropped it very quickly.

Try to start out doing a basic 15 minute routine 3x a week. Do you have a weight set? if not:
    -Pushups

    -Situps/crunches

-Dips (arms behind on chair/bed, drop a..s..s to ground, backup)

-Calf raises (stand on one leg, support but dont lean on a wall, tip toes, back down again)

-Squats (preferably holding a weight of ANY kind) (bend down knees same direction as feet [don't point feet/knees out like a sumo, point them forward, makes it harder/better)

This will hit you chest/abs and most importantly your legs (massive muscles, burning more fat during repair and growth)

Also try to cut down on simple carbs like white bread/white pasta /sugar/cereals [especially shite ones] – you don’t have to go on a mad diet but consider how many carbs are involved with cereal for breakfast, white sandwiches for dinner, then pasta and sauce for evening meal. Replace it with scrambled eggs / lean bacon for breakfast – go ahead with the sandwiches but use brown bread, then eat maybe a fish meal at night. Obviously this needs to be mixed up somewhat, and you don’t need to be too strict.

    G’luck

Man Boobs won’t go completely away with just strength training or/and aerobic exercise.

The problem is the hormone level. This is why doctors will tell you that they go away when you hit puberty when you are young. They are often present in very young and old males.

Sometimes, due to an error in hormone production during puberty, they will stay even after puberty. You then will need to either go through expensive and painful surgery or you find a way to balance your hormone production with proper exercise and nutrition.

If you want to loss or burn fat, lifting is not a good idea. It will just make you build muscles but not burn fats. Try do some running, or swimming or any cardiovasvular exercise that you know.
