Would this be beneficial for a chest exercise?
Im thinking about exercising my chest by; lying down flat on a bench or bed, holding dumbells at my chest/torso with my arms bent in a slight chicken wing fashion, and then tilting my elbows up parallel to the floor contracting my pectorals. This is because i use a wooden boox as a bench, and cannot have proper form on a normal dumbell press becuase the bench is to wide. Is this too risky or useless?
I am going to tell you this and I hope your really reading and absorbing right now. DO NOT DO THIS!! It is very very risky and not worth your being hurt or the time and effort your going to have to put into it for the negative results your going to get.

Cool, great idea, except for holding the weights over your chest. If it were me I would put weighted arm bands around my fore arms then do it.

I would try to figure something else out to do the right exercises. I’m not sure if this is benificial but why would you want to take a chance and maybe hurt yourself? Think about it..

this exercise will rip-up your chest line in the middle. when you bring the weights back up make sure to twist the dumbells so the are parallel to your body.
Also try bench pressing aswell both of these execises togeather will give you a good chest in no time.

I don’t really like the sound of that to be honest. Especially if your considering a bed to execute your exercise on.
Furthermore, bending your arms parallel to the ground whilst holding dumbbells is just stupid, you’ll promote injury doing that. Keep a slight bend in your elbows -at all times, especially if your occupying heavy weight. You can still achieve beneficial stimulation through the use of this method.
In recommendation to the choice of equipment you should use to lie down on, either a dedicated fitness bench or at least, a solid wooden look alike. Just make sure it’s secure!
