Which is the most effective chest exercise?
I do not need to lose fat, only build muscle. Which is the most effective way of building chest muscle. I have a chin-up bar and dumbells if needed. I have heard press ups are good also. Which 1 exercise will build chest muscle quickest. I am not bothered about difficulty as i am very determined,
Thanks

Push-ups are the most effective chest exercise Aim for 25 a day. When that gets comfortable , shoot for 35. When you can bang our 35, hit the bench press.

Sb is right.Start out with pushups and when you think you have a good base start doing bench.Start out with something light may be 2 25s each side then after 1 month do 35s,45s,45s+10s,+25s,35,45s.So in 7 months you should be able to get to 220lbs.Also dont compare your bench with other people.I am telling you from the experience.I started benching 2 weeks ago started at 220lbs max out.But i have a good base with dumbbell press.Just because some one of your size can bench 300 doesnt mean u can. They might be lifting for more time.As you lift more you will get adjusted to the weight and also eat lots of food.Growth thats the key. Also ony work chest once/week.
Here is what i do for chest
Always warm up before attempting a heavy weight.I do warm ups with 135s of 12 reps for barbell and 55s of 12 reps for dumbbell.
dumbbell press or flat press 3*6
Incline dumbbell press or barbell dumbbell press 3*6-8
Incline flies 3*6-8
Flat flies 3*6-8
Cable cross over or pec flies 3*6-10
Also workout your triceps and shoulder. The more power you have on triceps and shoulder the more increase will show up in your bench press.
